Operations Manager

Our dynamic business model is evolving rapidly through strategic partnerships, and we're now looking for an experienced and driven Production Manager or Operations Manager to join our senior management team in Peterborough.
About the Operations Manager role:
Reporting to the MD as the Operations Manager, you will oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and quality across manufacturing, logistics, and warehousing. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will play a critical role in driving continuous improvement, coordinating cross-functional teams, and supporting the scaling of our operations.
Key Responsibilities for the Operations Manager:
Full accountability for all production functions ensuring capacity meets demand within set timeframes
Championing LEAN practices and a continuous improvement culture
Instilling a Quality-first mindset, delivering products that exceed customer expectations
Promoting Health & Safety ownership across teams, ensuring full compliance with HSE standards
Maintaining, revising, and enforcing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensuring full staff training documentation
Ensuring adherence to ISO and other relevant quality accreditations
Driving waste reduction and efficiency improvements in production
Budget ownership for all business units, including labour cost management
Generating regular performance and output reports for the leadership team
Supporting automation and machine integration projects with innovative production solutions
Developing and executing production schedules (daily, weekly, monthly, annual)
Leading and developing your team using structured tools: objectives, EPRs, PDPs
Required Education, Skills and Qualifications of our Operations Manager:
Proven experience as an accomplished Production Manager or Operations Manager within a manufacturing environment
Hardworking, ambitious, and committed to achieving operational excellence
Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and generating data reports
Demonstrated expertise in continuous improvement and process innovation
Influential leadership style with the ability to engage, inspire, and develop teams
Deep understanding of SOPs, KPIs, Lean Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance
Familiarity with HSE regulations, Kaizen, Six Sigma, Engineering, and Automation processes
