Overview
The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust is the largest specialist orthopaedic Trust in the UK with a world renowned reputation. We are looking for a band 7 radiographer with good experience in cross sectional imaging to join our scanning team at the RNOH Stanmore site. It is a great time to join the scanning department at the RNOH as we have recently upgraded our 3T MRI to a Philips Elition X with ambient lighting. The post offers an excellent opportunity for a hardworking, experienced scanning radiographer who would like to develop their leadership and management skills as well as their clinical skills in cross-sectional orthopaedic imaging. The role will be based in the Scanning Department of the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore.
Responsibilities
* Support the flow of patients through the department through prompt protocolling of requests and correspondence with clinical teams and radiologists where needed.
* Respond to MRI safety queries and concerns to ensure a safe patient-focused service.
* Produce high quality images by applying knowledge and skills to adapt techniques to meet complex patient requirements.
* Deliver a safe, patient-focused service and respond to potential complaints or concerns.
* Actively contribute to departmental audits and service improvements.
* Support and deputise for the Scanning Superintendent Radiographer; gain experience in managerial duties such as procurement, appraisals and recruitment.
* Develop further managerial skills through the Trust’s leadership and management training programmes. CPD is actively encouraged.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Band 7 radiographer with good experience in cross-sectional imaging.
* Experience in managing workload and producing high-quality cross-sectional images.
* Willingness to participate in extended service hours; the department currently runs six days a week with plans to extend to seven days and provides an on-call service outside working hours.
* Ability to communicate with clinical teams and radiologists and to respond to MRI safety queries.
* Interest in developing leadership, management, and audit skills; CPD is encouraged.
