Head of Quality (Private training provider) – Dartford
Salary: £54,000-£58,000 + Pension + Career Progression + Holiday
Are you an experienced senior-level quality professional with recent experience exclusively within an independent training provider with over 500 learners? Do you want a varied, challenging role with genuine progression in a rapidly expanding and innovative training provider?
This provider is at the forefront of Fire & Security education in the UK, delivering high-quality, hands-on training that blends face-to-face teaching, online delivery, and bespoke commercial solutions across the full Fire & Security spectrum (Fire Detection & Alarm Systems, CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Alarms). The role focuses on quality improvement of education delivery, covering internal quality assurance, auditing, teaching standards, and acting as the main point of contact for Ofsted.
The ideal candidate will have worked for an independent training provider with 500+ learners in a quality-based role, with experience leading a team of 20+ trainers/instructors across multiple sites in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. A proven track record in enhancing the learner experience—not just compliance—is essential. This role offers progression toward director-level positions within a rapidly expanding provider.
Responsibilities
* Maintain quality across all educational delivery in line with professional standards, best practices, and regulatory frameworks for government-funded provision.
* Oversee and maintain direct claims status, Matrix accreditation, and successful Ofsted inspection outcomes.
* Line manage a team of IQAs to ensure consistent and effective internal quality assurance processes across all programmes.
* Apply a strong understanding of EIF requirements—particularly for apprenticeships—to drive quality and compliance.
* Possess in-depth experience with the quality assurance processes for regulated qualifications and awarding bodies.
* Foster high standards and continuous improvement with the learner experience at the centre of all activity.
* Lead quality system design and improvement initiatives while supporting professional development and team performance.
* Work cross-functionally to embed consistent, high-quality practices that enhance learner outcomes and organisational effectiveness.
* Lead and manage quality across multi-site operations, ensuring scalable and consistent approaches across the organisation.

* Recent experience working for an independent training provider with 500+ learners
* Previously held a quality-based role with strategic responsibility
* Experience leading a team of 20+ trainers/instructors
* Experience managing multi-site delivery operations
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, scaling business with a growth-oriented mindset
* Proven track record in driving learner experience and outcomes, not just compliance
