We are looking for an experienced registered Occupational Therapist who has a passion and interest in adult mental health.

Based on the South coast in our mental health services, you will be involved in delivering AHP service's newly redesigned 'One Referral: One AHP' model of care. The model is designed to enable:
- Relational consistency during transitions within mental health services to improve patient experience.
- Access to a varied range of intervention choices including Sensory Awareness groups and the evidence-based Occupation Matters Programme.
- Supporting people with mental health issues to live well in their communities.

Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible for the provision of a high-quality Occupational Therapy (OT) service, ensuring that the service delivered meets Trust and professional standards and develops in line with Government, Clinical, Professional, and local guidelines.
Delivering occupational focused assessment, formulations, and interventions for a caseload of patients with complex functional needs at hospital, in their homes and communities.
Be a point of contact within the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment (CRHT) MDT which will include identifying and taking OT referrals from CRHT, attending MDT meetings to add the OT perspective to clinical discussions and updating CRHT team on developments within the AHP service.
To deputise for AHP Team leads and provide cover for the other team members as necessary.
To be responsible for supporting, developing, and evaluating an evidence-based therapeutic group programme.
To be a key resource in facilitating the patients journey through mental health clinical pathways within acute, primary, and secondary care. This will involve supporting patients in their homes and communities to prevent an avoidable hospital admission, and to work with patients in hospital to ensure safe, effective, efficient, and recovery focused discharge.

* Training qualification to teach students on placement or equivalent experience
* Specialist post graduate training in a range of subjects relevant to mental health/acute mental illness/challenging behaviours

* Post graduate experience working in complex and high-risk mental health settings -- managing challenging behaviours.
* Experience of applying the Occupational Therapy process in mental health.
* Experience of using standardised and functional assessments and activity analysis in a mental health setting.
