Senior Surveyor – Essex County Council (Temporary, Full Time)
Essex County Council (ECC) is delighted to support Harlow District Council in recruiting a temporary Senior Surveyor on a 12-month basis. The successful candidate will be based on site a minimum of three days per week and will lead and manage surveying projects from conception to completion.

Key Responsibilities
* Manage and execute a variety of surveying projects, overseeing all stages from planning to delivery.
* Conduct detailed land, boundary, topographical, and construction surveys using advanced surveying equipment and software.
* Prepare accurate survey reports, drawings, and maps that meet client and regulatory requirements.
* Liaise with clients to understand project needs, provide expert advice, and deliver high‑quality outcomes.
* Supervise, mentor, and train junior surveyors, promoting best practices and professional development.
* Ensure all surveying activities comply with legal, safety, and quality standards.
Qualifications and Skills
* Education: Bachelor’s degree in Surveying or a related field.
* Experience: Minimum of five years’ professional surveying experience, with demonstrated project management capability.
* Technical Expertise: Proficiency in modern surveying instruments and software (e.g., GPS, Total Station, AutoCAD, GIS). Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
* Professional Credentials: MRICS, RICS, or equivalent certification preferred.
* Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong client relationship abilities.
* Leadership: Proven experience supervising teams and mentoring junior surveyors.
