Our client, a well-established leading independent provider of aviation/aerospace services to commercial and government customers worldwide, is looking for an AOG Operations Specialist to work a night shift at offices near the Gatwick area.
On Offer:
* Opportunity to work for a leading aviation services provider operating in over 20 countries.
* Salary of up to £40K per annum with up to £4K shift allowance.
* Working hours: 4 on 4 off shift pattern, 7pm to 7am.
Main Purpose of the Role:
The AOG Operations Specialist will operate within the International Operations Centre (IOC) near London Gatwick, fulfilling time-critical (AOG) logistics demands from airline customers, working with the Operations Specialist Team Leader and team to ensure operational performance meets contracted targets (KPIs) and obligations.
You will communicate closely with airline customers, providing detailed feedback on logistics movements of AOG shipments, while ensuring efficient processing of Materials, Procurement, and Inventory Management within the parameters set by the Team Leader. As part of the IOC Operations Specialist Team, you will serve as a focal point for airline/customers and internal stakeholders.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Act as a focal point, providing continuity for contracted customers & Programme Managers, handling time-critical orders efficiently.
* Manage requests from airline customers, ensuring demands are raised promptly, sourcing supplies, and arranging shipments per contractual service levels. Highlight potential shortfalls and coordinate solutions with suppliers and customers.
* Assist with daily operational demands and customer requests, minimizing delays and maintaining excellent communication.
* Help address customer order backlogs, ensuring delays are minimized and alternative solutions are communicated effectively.
* Engage proactively with Programme and Operations Managers to meet contractual requirements, ensuring customer satisfaction and performance.
* Identify potential problems early, evaluate implications, and develop contingency plans, escalating issues as needed.
* Ensure accurate reflection of component stock levels through statistical analysis, adjusting reorder levels and minimum order quantities to prevent overstocking or stockouts.
* Proven experience in supply chain, logistics, or AOG freight forwarding in a high-pressure, time-critical environment.
* Broad understanding of airline, aviation, and aerospace operations, including technical services, logistics, and customer service.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work with demanding customers.
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and adaptability to in-house IT systems.
