Rheumatology Clinical Nurse Specialist
This secondment position is for 30 hours per week within the Rheumatology service across Morecambe Bay, primarily based at Furness General Hospital in Barrow. The successful candidate may also be required to support other sites within the Trust as a flexible, cross‑site resource.
Key responsibilities
* Support the Rheumatology service across Morecambe Bay and lead nurse‑led clinics, either face‑to‑face or remotely.
* Manage own workload, demonstrating proven leadership and management experience or capability.
* Triage patient and professional concerns via the Rheumatology answering phone, emails, and other communication channels.
* Deliver high‑quality patient care and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and experience
* Minimum 1 year Band 6 clinical experience.
* Registered nurse (UK NMC) at 1st level.
* Post‑registration clinical course or qualification in a specialist area that has enhanced clinical practice.
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
* Previous experience within a Rheumatology service.
* Non‑medical prescriber credential (preferred).

Salary: £47,810 to £54,710 per annum (dependent on experience under Band 7, Annexe 21).
