Overview

Join to apply for the Band 7 Training Lead - RRI (Averts) role at Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Trust's Learning and Development Team as a Training lead for the Trust's RRI (AVERTS) Fundamental Training programme. AVERTS is a Trust owned reduction of restrictive intervention training programme that is delivered Trust-wide. The post-holder will be responsible for the leadership and direct line management of the RRI (AVERTS) training team and will work closely with Learning and Development colleagues to ensure sufficient training is planned to meet the requirements of the organisation. The post-holder will also be responsible for monitoring the content of the RRI training programme to ensure it meets the ongoing needs of BSMHFT and will work alongside the Trainers and SME for RRI to make changes that are commensurate with national policy and best practice guidelines. The Training lead will also be required, on occasions, for assisting in the delivery of the RRI training and will also work closely with the RRI consultants to ensure that there is direct assimilation of training from the classroom into clinical practice. This will include visiting and co-delivering training within clinical areas with the wider RRI team. The post holder will need to be able to travel across the Trust to multiple sites as part of this role. A recognised teaching qualification would be advantageous; individuals will be trained to deliver the Trust's RRI (AVERTS) programme, therefore previous trainer experience is desirable but not essential.

The Trust is looking for a highly motivated individual who has experience and an interest in the ongoing reduction of restrictive practices and restrictive physical interventions to join and lead our RRI training team. The successful candidate will have responsibility for ensuring the Trust's RRI training is delivered to the highest of standards, meets the requirements of the RRN BILD ACT accreditation process and that there is sufficient training capacity scheduled throughout the year to ensure the Trust is able to meet its training requirements. The individual will also be required, on occasions, to cover gaps and deficits in RRI fundamental training provision, and will deliver high quality training both in the training environment and deliver bespoke training events within clinical areas. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership skills and be able to work collaboratively with clinical and corporate services and the wider learning and development team. The individual will need to be a registered health care professional who has extensive clinical experience of working within in-patient mental health and/or learning disability settings.
