* Provide advice to families via telephone, email and in person concerning childcare, early education and related services.
* Implement early years entitlement funding for under-fives, advising parents on accessing entitlements and raising awareness through outreach.
* Work with childcare providers and schools to ensure accurate claims for funding within deadlines.
* Audit providers and schools to verify compliance with funding conditions.
* Update and maintain databases on Ofsted registered childcare and council's family information directory and SEND Local Offer websites.
* Deliver outreach in the local community, particularly to disadvantaged families.
GCSE level (or equivalent) with Maths and English.
* Desirable: qualification in Information, Advice and Guidance.
* Knowledge of the challenges faced by families and ability to find constructive solutions.
* Excellent communication skills-tactful and diplomatic in person, on phone and in writing.
* Positive, proactive approach to work.
* Competent ICT user, experience with management information systems and databases.
* Good organisational skills.
