KES Adventures is a newly established holiday camp provider based at King Edward's School, Bath. We offer multi-activity programmes for children aged 5–12, designed to inspire creativity, confidence, and fun. Our camps run during all UK school holidays and include a wide range of activities from arts and crafts to sports, STEM, and outdoor adventures.
The Role
As the holiday camps expand, we are looking for a passionate and experienced Camp Leader to oversee the planning, setup, and delivery of our holiday camps. You will lead a team of Activity Leaders, ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children, and create a fun, structured, and inclusive environment. You will work closely with the Commercial Manager to support camp operations, manage budgets, assist with the recruitment of your team, and ensure a high-quality experience for children and families.

18 weeks per year (School holiday plus 2 weeks)
7.30am – 5pm Monday to Friday
(half hour unpaid lunch break)

Responsible to

Responsible for
Supporting camp operations, managing budgets, assisting with recruitment, and ensuring a high-quality experience for children and families.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations
* Lead and motivate a team of Activity Leaders to deliver engaging, safe, and inclusive activities
* Conduct staff inductions and training before each holiday period
* Assist with recruitment and selection of new staff
* Manage staff rotas, daily ratios, and camp logistics
* Liaise with the Commercial Manager on budgets, equipment needs, and operational planning
* Collaborate with the host school and external providers to ensure smooth camp delivery
* Respond to daily challenges with flexibility and professionalism
Childcare & Safeguarding
* Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and inclusion of all children on site
* Implement behaviour management strategies and emergency drills
* Provide basic first aid and manage incidents professionally
* Uphold safeguarding policies and procedures in line with school and national standards
* Ensure staff are aware of children's medical, dietary, and additional needs
Activity Planning & Delivery
* Plan and lead a variety of activities including:
* Sports, arts and crafts, STEM, music, dance, and nature walks
* Themed days (e.g. treasure hunts, talent shows, cultural experiences)
* Cooking, gardening, and imaginative play sessions
* Adjust plans for weather and respond flexibly to daily needs
* Encourage children to try new activities and build confidence
* Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging camp atmosphere
Parent & Admin Liaison
* Manage sign-in/sign-out procedures and child registers
* Use our booking platform to access and update child information (training provided)
* Liaise with parents at drop-off and collection, addressing concerns and sharing updates
* Monitor the holiday camp inbox and respond to parent queries
* Amend bookings on behalf of parents when needed
* Share administrative tasks with the Commercial Manager and step in when required

King Edward's School, North Road, Bath, or at such other place as the School may from time to time direct.
Training
You will be required to attend annual Safeguarding and Exam Invigilator training and you will be paid at the above hourly rate for the time you undertake the sessions.
Person Specification
Qualifications
5 GCSEs at grade 9 to 4 (A* to C) or equivalent, including English and Mathematics
Knowledge and Experience
Experience in childcare, teaching, coaching, or camp management
Strong leadership and communication skills
High level of and commitment to safeguarding young people
Ability to work within existing policies and guidelines
Ability to work independently and make informed decisions
Paediatric First Aid trained (or willing to undertake training)
Level 3 childcare qualification or PGCE
Knowledge of multi-activity programming and camp operations
Personal Qualities
Well organised with evidence of good administrative skills and methodical attention to detail
Energetic, enthusiastic, and passionate about working with children
Excellent interpersonal communication skills including listening and the ability to communicate with children and staff
Proven evidence of ability to work calmly and professionally under pressure
Ability to relate and work well with pupils aged 11-18 years
Be proactive and self-motivated and take ownership of tasks
High standards of personal integrity and honesty
Be punctual and reliable
Team player with a strong desire to be a positive role model
Flexible, adaptable to change and able to respond appropriately to a wide variety of unexpected situations
Have a reasonable degree of physical fitness in order to carry papers, etc., over a large site built on a hillside.
