Help Kids Learn, Every Hour: Be a Cover Supervisor!
GSL Education are looking for a dedicated Cover Supervisor (CS) to support students at a welcoming SEN/SEMH school in Dover.
In this role, you will help students learn and grow, ensuring each day in the classroom is engaging and productive. You will play an important part in creating a positive and structured learning environment, helping students feel confident and supported. Using your skills, you will guide them through lessons, answer questions, and maintain a focused classroom atmosphere. Duties of the Role:
1. Supervise and manage classrooms during teacher absences, ensuring students stay on task.
2. Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects, tailored to the needs of SEN/SEMH students.
3. Maintain a positive and structured learning environment, following school policies.
4. Support students with their learning, ensuring they complete assigned work.
5. Handle classroom behaviour effectively, promoting respect and engagement.
6. Provide feedback to teachers on student progress and classroom behaviour.
7. Assist with general school duties, such as break-time supervision when required.
8. Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning atmosphere for all students.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
1. Strong classroom management skills with the ability to maintain a positive learning environment.
2. A passion for education and supporting students in their learning journey.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Previous experience working with young people in a school or similar setting (preferred but not essential).
5. A degree or relevant qualification is desirable but not required.
6. The ability to deliver pre-planned lessons across various subjects.
7. Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
