The UK Government has established UK Industrial Fusion Solutions (UKIFS) Ltd., a subsidiary of UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA), to lead the charge in delivering fusion energy through the design and delivery of the Spherical Tokamak for Energy Production (STEP) prototype fusion plant. UKIFS is setting up the company, attracting talent, engaging with industry, developing a supply chain, and planning and constructing the STEP prototype.

Role Details
The salary for this role is £48,376. Onsite working is expected for 3 days each week, with support for flexible working arrangements. Employees can be based at either West Burton, Nottinghamshire or Culham, Oxfordshire.
Security Clearance
This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including DBS checks and possibly a search of open source data.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement the annual People Plan aligned with UKIFS’s goals.
* Research and benchmark HR best practices.
* Deliver HR projects supporting UKIFS’s growth and people management initiatives.
Employee Relations & Policy Development
* Manage employee relations cases and advise managers.
* Develop HR policies and support talent management initiatives.
* Lead engagement and wellbeing surveys and develop related programs.
Operational HR Excellence
* Manage HR operations including onboarding, queries, and performance management.
* Provide HR analytics and ensure legal compliance.
Qualifications
* Degree in HRM or related field, or equivalent experience.
* Experience as an HR Advisor or Junior HRBP.
* Experience managing employee relations and developing policies.
* Proficiency in HR analytics and knowledge of UK employment law.
* Strong communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.
* Experience with recruitment, pay & reward strategies, and project management.
* Experience in regulated environments or civil service preferred.
* HAY job evaluation training or experience is advantageous.
