About The Role
We are seeking to appoint an Associate Professor (Teaching Track) in Accounting. The successful candidate will have a strong record of engaging in teaching financial accounting and financial reporting across undergraduate and postgraduate levels, using a range of relevant and effective teaching methods.
Flexible Working
We will consider applications for employment on a part‑time or other flexible working basis (e.g. job share), despite the position being advertised as full‑time.
The Role Includes The Following Responsibilities
* Design teaching material and deliver across a range of modules.
* Set, mark and assess work and examinations and provide timely feedback to students.
* Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student projects and placements, where appropriate.
* Identify areas where curricula are in need of revision or improvement.
* Extend, transform and apply knowledge acquired from scholarship to teaching and appropriate external activities.
* Act as a personal tutor, being responsible for the pastoral care of students.
* Undertake specific departmental roles as may be required.
About You
You will have:
* Proven ability and achievements in teaching financial accounting and financial reporting. Experience in teaching related subjects such as audit, management accounting and tax is desirable.
* The ability to deliver teaching across a full range of programmes and levels.
* Good honours degree and a relevant professional qualification or PhD.
* Proven track record of initiating appropriate curriculum developments in response to changes in the regulatory and professional environment.
* Experience in curriculum and course design, including the integration of current accounting regulations, theory and practice.
* A commitment to using innovative, student‑focused teaching approaches.
* Proven track record in fostering relationships with professional accounting bodies.
