Your role: Working to the Principal Surveyor (Estates) you will be responsible for the management, acquisition and disposal of a diverse, commercial and operational portfolio of properties, with an aim to deliver an effective and efficient use of the council s property assets. You will ensure that revenue is maximised, and efficiency savings are delivered. You will work with service managers across the council and in other public sector organisations including health organisations, community and third sector groups to influence and shape the most effective use of the public estate within the borough. You will work in partnership with other services including Legal and Finance to ensure that all agreements, records and financial records (including valuations for accounting purposes) are compliant with and relevant to the appropriate standards to minimise risk to the Council. About you: You will need to be an excellent communicator who is used to negotiating at all levels with third party businesses, property professionals, internal and external stakeholders. A highly motivated team player who will manage and support the Estates Surveyors and be eager to improve our operational and let estate returns, improving occupation, revenue generation and professional property advice to our operational services to support the best service possible to our customers. You will need to have Full Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and undertake relevant Continuous Professional development to meet the ongoing demands of the role and to meet RICS requirements. You will need effective knowledge of asset valuation and management in a local authority environment and of Landlords and Tenant legislation in the management of local authority investment assets.
