We are seeking a Programme Support - Construction Skills to assist in the coordination and administration of a Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) programme delivered within HMP/YOI Hindley.
This is a non‑delivery role. You will not be teaching or delivering sessions. Instead, you will provide essential operational, administrative, and quality support to ensure the programme runs effectively and meets contractual requirements.
The programme supports learners to achieve CSCS accreditation, develop employability skills, and prepare for work within the construction industry.
Programme supports individuals with low prior educational attainment, mental health needs or trauma, communication difficulties, and low confidence and employability readiness.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and organise course materials, workbooks, and resources
* Maintain Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and learner records
* Record attendance, learner progress, and outcomes
* Support learner registration, certification, and CSCS card processes
* Liaise with tutors, prison staff, and internal teams
* Support scheduling and coordination of monthly learner cohorts
* Assist with organising employer engagement opportunities and end‑of‑course activities
* Support internal promotion of the programme (e.g. posters, communications channels)
* Support internal verification and quality assurance processes
* Collect and record learner feedback
* Assist with reporting on starts, completions, withdrawals, and achievements
* Ensure compliance with prison policies, safeguarding, and security requirements
* Support monthly Management Information (MI) reporting
* Maintain accurate and secure learner data
* Assist with tracking key performance indicators (achievement, retention, satisfaction)
Skills and Qualifications
* Strong organisational and administrative skills
* Comfortable working in a structured, compliance‑led environment
* Excellent attention to detail and record management skills
* Ability to handle sensitive information professionally
* Effective communication with a range of stakeholders
* Experience in education, training, or employability programmes (desirable)
* Understanding of working with individuals with complex needs (desirable)
* Experience within a prison education and employability programme (required)
Employment Details
* Hourly rate: £15.50, full‑time contract
* Contract aligns with a 12‑month cohort delivery model (12 cohorts)
* Employment subject to security vetting and prison induction
* No delivery occurs on bank holidays or designated prison closure periods
* Structured working hours – no evenings or weekends
* Role does not involve teaching or classroom delivery
* Must adhere to prison policies including safeguarding, security, and data protection
