We are looking to recruit a Lead Materials Engineer on a 12 month contract based in Leatherhead, Surrey.

Purpose of the Role
During the EXECUTE phase, Coordinate and supervise the material scope of work of the EPC Contractor. Checks for contractual compliance, safety, and quality from the EPC Contractor. This would involve managing multiple tasks and stakeholders, coordinating with the EPC Contractor, and ensuring that all work is completed safely and to the required quality standards.
Responsibilities / Skills
4. Design Review: The PMC Lead shall coordinate and review the material design documents prepared by the EPC Contractor, ensuring that they meet all project specifications, safety requirements, and applicable standards and regulations. Any issues or concerns would be addressed to the EPC Contractor by the material team.
5. Review EPC Contractor’s documentation including material selection diagrams, material selection reports and philosophies, coating and insulation specifications, cathodic protection diagrams for contractual compliance, safety, and quality.
6. Attend weekly progress meeting with the EPC Contractors material team.
7. Oversee the EPC Contractors procurement and Supplier contract management of the material scope for the project.
8. Attend bid clarification meetings as a representative for material.
9. Review deviations against client standards
10. Present deviations to standards to technical authority for approval.
11. Review final technical evaluation report and provide feedback on material
12. Attend Supplier kick of meeting and pre inspection meetings at the Supplier’s main manufacturing location.
13. Spot check EPC Contractor review of Supplier documentation for quality and contractual compliance
14. Receive and review Supplier documentation as required, particularly critical information like the inspection and test plans, material, insulation, and coating documentation.
15. Construction support: support the PMC construction team during construction activities,
16. Support construction and inspection team with material assistance, including concession requests and site modifications approval.
17. Commissioning: support the PMC commissioning team during commissioning.
18. Carry out periodic provisioning (i.e. propose the replenishment level and max stock level) for materials based on historical usage and future forecast
19. Regularly prepare Overage, Shortage and Damage (OS&D) report
20. Address and monitor all import related requirements from vendor and work with the end user to satisfy them
21. Manage and monitor all export related matters pertaining to subcontract work to repair vendor
22. Track and report the status of all subcontract works
23. Work with shop managers to re-life shelf-life expired materials stored in the warehouse
24. Support project/ capability setup from Engineering in terms of materials and purchase
25. Support the material team and look for ways to optimize the work process and flow
26. Act as the dedicated material controller to the assigned workshop
27. Work with shop manager on all materials matters (like need date and priority) and monitor/ track status till delivery
28. On a daily basis, clear the notice of requirement (NOR) triggered by SAP and raise the purchase requisitions for materials demanded by the workshop
29. Perform issuance of materials to the workshop once receipt by warehouse.
30. Work with Central Procurement team on all material and vendor's requirements
31. Safeguard own Health and Safety, as well as that of fellow employees, by paying attention to safe work practices, maintaining a safe work environment, and complying with applicable HSE requirements.
Experience
12 years' experience in any of the material items listed below in the LNG, Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry including minimum 2 years (preferred) in similar position.
