Maintenance Manager
Location: Blackburn
Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm
Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead and develop our maintenance function at our Blackburn site. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideally suited to someone with a strong CNC machinery and engineering background, who can ensure the reliability, safety, and performance of all plant and equipment.
You will be responsible for managing maintenance activities across the site, reducing downtime, improving preventative maintenance practices, and leading a small team of engineers.
Key Responsibilities

Lead, manage, and develop the site maintenance team

Plan and oversee preventative and reactive maintenance schedules
*
Ensure maximum uptime and efficiency of CNC machines and associated manufacturing equipment
*
Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and control system faults
*
Manage contractors and external service providers where required
*
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce breakdowns and improve reliability
*
Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and company procedures
*
Maintain accurate maintenance records, KPIs, and reports
*
Support capital projects, machine installations, and upgrades
*
Work closely with production and engineering teams to minimise disruption
Skills & Experience Required
*
Proven experience in a Maintenance Manager or Senior Maintenance Engineer role
*
Strong background in CNC machinery and manufacturing / engineering environments
*
Sound mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
*
Experience with preventative maintenance systems and continuous improvement
*
Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team
*
Strong organisational and communication skills
*
Knowledge of health & safety legislation in an industrial environment
Desirable
*
Formal engineering qualification (HNC/HND, NVQ Level 3+, or equivalent)
*
Experience with CMMS / maintenance management systems
*
Exposure to lean manufacturing or TPM principles
