Engineering Leader - Late Shift (Mon-Fri)

I'm working with a well-established manufacturing business in Cambridgeshire who are looking to appoint an Engineering Leader for their late shift (5pm-2am, Monday to Friday).
This is a hands‑on engineering role where you'll take ownership of maintenance activity during the night shift, supporting a small team and ensuring the smooth running of site equipment. You'll be the key engineering presence on shift, working closely with production to keep downtime to a minimum.
The role:
* Prioritise breakdowns and planned maintenance activities on shift
* Carry out hands‑on fault‑finding, diagnostics, and repairs
* Support PPM delivery and help improve equipment reliability
* Ensure accurate use of CMMS and maintain stock control standards
* Contribute to continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives
* Support installation and integration of new equipment where required
* Help reduce downtime, waste, and energy usage across site
* Maintain full compliance with health & safety and site procedures (PUWER, LOLER, etc.)
About you:
* Multi‑skilled engineer from a manufacturing or food/FMCG background
* Strong mechanical and electrical fault‑finding skills
* Experience with breakdown response and planned maintenance
* Previous experience working in a small team or supporting others on shift
* Apprentice trained or equivalent qualification (NVQ Level 3 / HNC or similar)
* Practical, proactive approach with good problem‑solving ability
