Technical Sales Representative
Location: Midlands, UK (Field Based)
We are looking for a passionate and driven Technical Sales Representative to manage established customer accounts and develop new business opportunities across the Midlands region.
This is a field-based role focused on building strong customer relationships, understanding application requirements, and providing technical expertise to drive sales growth.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing existing accounts while identifying and developing new business opportunities across the territory. You will work closely with customers to understand their measurement and inspection requirements and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
This role involves regular customer visits, demonstrations, and collaboration with internal teams to ensure a high level of service and support.
Key Responsibilities
* Visit existing and prospective customers to understand requirements and promote products and services
* Build strong long-term relationships with customers within the territory
* Develop a strong understanding of metrology principles and applications
* Identify, generate, and qualify new sales opportunities
* Work closely with internal specialists to support technical sales projects
* Prepare quotations, negotiate with customers, and close sales opportunities
* Maintain accurate records using company CRM and IT systems
* Support exhibitions, product demonstrations, and marketing events when required
* Liaise with internal departments to ensure projects progress smoothly
* Respond promptly to customer enquiries regarding pricing, availability, and delivery
* Work collaboratively with the Finance team regarding payment and account queries
About You
* Experience in technical sales or field sales, ideally within engineering, manufacturing, or metrology
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* Technically minded with the ability to understand and explain complex products
* Self-motivated with the ability to manage your own territory effectively
* Well organised with good time management skills
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within the Midlands region
