We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team supporting major power and energy infrastructure projects across the Tilbury and Kent region.
This is a key commercial role within a high-profile energy programme, offering the opportunity to take ownership of complex infrastructure packages that are critical to the UK's evolving energy network.
The Opportunity
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a leading role in the commercial management of power transmission, substation, and associated energy infrastructure works, operating under NEC contract frameworks (NEC Option C experience highly desirable).
You will be responsible for driving strong commercial performance across your projects, ensuring robust cost control, effective change management, and full contractual compliance from project inception through to final account.
This is a hybrid role requiring 2-3 days per week on site across Tilbury / Kent, with flexibility for remote working the remainder of the time.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the commercial management of power and energy infrastructure projects
Administer and manage contracts under NEC (Option C preferred)
Manage the full lifecycle of Compensation Events and change control processes
Maintain control of Defined Cost, budgets, and cost forecasting
Prepare detailed cost reports, valuations, and financial performance updates
Oversee subcontractor procurement, payments, and account management
Support risk identification and commercial opportunity management
Provide clear, confident commercial advice to project teams and stakeholders
Ensure compliance with NEC procedures and client commercial governance
Support negotiation and resolution of contractual and commercial matters
About You
Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within the power, energy, or utilities sector
Strong knowledge of NEC contracts (essential)
Experience with NEC Option C target cost contracts highly desirable
Strong background in cost control, forecasting, and change management
Demonstrable experience delivering complex infrastructure projects
Excellent commercial awareness and analytical capability
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project environments
