Band 6 Occupational Therapist – Main duties
We are seeking a motivated and proactive Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our integrated therapy team. You will deliver an effective, patient‑centred service, supporting individuals to maximise independence through high‑quality assessment and intervention.
* Undertake comprehensive functional assessments
* Plan and deliver individualised rehabilitation programmes
* Support safe discharge planning and promote independence
* Work closely within an integrated therapy team
* Maintain accurate clinical records
* Contribute to service improvement initiatives
Working Pattern
Service hours Monday‑Friday 8:00–18:00 and weekends/bank holidays 8:00–16:00. Flexible shift working is required.
Additional Requirements
Full UK driving licence and access to a car is essential. Role operates under Agile Working policy.
Qualifications
Qualified Occupational Therapist with Band 6 experience. Proven ability to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centred therapy services. Strong communication skills and ability to manage a varied caseload. Resilient, organised and adaptable.
Experience
Experience working in community therapy, facilitating safe home returns and interprofessional coordination. Demonstrated competence in functional assessment and rehabilitation planning.
Person Specification
Resilient, organised, adaptable, strong communication skills, and ability to manage a varied caseload. Essential to be a UK resident with permission to work in the UK and, for this role, a valid driving licence and access to a car.
