Your main responsibility will be assisting the Head Chef in managing and running the kitchen, ensuring the team remains motivated and all food is prepared to the highest standards.
Additional key responsibilities include:
* Supporting menu development and design, considering the nutritional requirements of Champneys' healthy eating cuisine.
* Assisting the Head Chef in recruiting, managing, training, and evaluating all kitchen staff to meet Champneys' high standards.
* Taking responsibility for managing and operating the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef, including supervising staff.
* Updating the People System regarding daily hours worked and completing rotas as instructed in the Head Chef's absence.
* Preparing and presenting buffets and menu items.
* Maintaining and improving service and operating standards to ensure maximum guest satisfaction.
* Gaining knowledge of Champneys' healthy eating philosophy and ensuring staff are trained accordingly.
* Maintaining high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen, ensuring legislative compliance.
* Ordering food items for all outlets, checking prices, quality, and quantities, and ensuring the use of nominated suppliers.
* Controlling departmental food costs and minimizing wastage.
