We are currently looking to expand our team of Asbestos Lead Surveyors. The roles have recently opened through internal promotions and new contracts.
This is a great opportunity to work throughout the UK and offshore at times. The main office is located in Derby, Midlands, but we are seeking surveyors based across the UK (excluding Scotland at this time due to existing team presence) to work mobile and occasionally attend the office for meetings or paperwork collection.
Job Objectives and Responsibilities:
Conduct asbestos sampling, reinspections, management, refurbishment, and demolition surveys on various properties in accordance with HSG and company procedures. Additional duties include collecting site data, transporting asbestos samples to UKAS accredited laboratories approved by the company, and completing survey reports and drawings using company software.
Build and maintain client relationships, provide technical support and advice, liaise with project managers and supervisors, and communicate with clients as needed.
Set a professional example and promote the company positively at all times.
Main Duties:
Work in accordance with health & safety guidelines and company policies, ensuring quality and professionalism. Comply with CAR, HSG, and other asbestos legislation. Carry out all types of asbestos sampling and reinspections, oversee survey processes on-site, assess risks, and liaise with clients to ensure accessibility and safety. Lead surveys and mentor trainee surveyors when necessary. Manage equipment and PPE, ensuring proper documentation.
Person Specification:
BOHS P (or equivalent) qualification in buildings surveys and bulk sampling for asbestos.
Minimum of 1 year post-qualification experience.
Flexible with commuting and out-of-hours work, including shift changes and travel across the UK and offshore, with potential overnight stays.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and asbestos data collection software (e.g., Alpha Tracker).
Experience with mobile data collection devices.
Literacy and numeracy skills to company standards.
Must pass DBS, security, and other security checks for government-related work. Minimum age 21 with at least 1 year of driving experience, no more than 6 penalty points, and no recent driving bans.
Relevant certifications: P, PASMA/IPAF, Confined Space, RPE Inspection, IOSH, CSCS or equivalent.
