As a Workforce Officer – Attendance Management, you will support managers and staff across the Health Board to manage sickness absence effectively and provide generalist HR advice while working in line with the Hywel Dda values of excellent service and putting people at the heart of everything.
Responsibilities
* Work closely with operational teams, HR colleagues and Occupational Health to ensure timely and focused support in line with the All Wales Managing Attendance at Work Policy.
* Analyse sickness absence data, identify trends and priorities, and recommend improvements.
* Maintain accurate records, track case progression, plan and schedule review meetings, and support operational teams to take timely action.
* Advise on the application of the Managing Attendance at Work Policy, attend review meetings, interpret Occupational Health reports and coordinate ill‑health retirement cases.
* Provide generalist HR support including disciplinary cases, respect and resolution issues and organisational change – attend hearings or investigation meetings, provide policy guidance, take minutes and support completion of associated paperwork.
* Draft letters, maintain HR files in line with retention standards, coordinate documentation for hearings and input information into HR systems.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in managing sickness absence and attendance management.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make actionable recommendations.
* Excellent communication, judgement and organisational skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a team and support managers and staff across operational areas.
* Knowledge of the All Wales Managing Attendance at Work Policy and Occupational Health processes.
* Ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable; applicants may apply in either Welsh or English.
