Job Description
This role is based within the Boeing Global Services EASA Modifications Team in Dublin, which holds EASA and GCAA Part 21J Design Organisation Approval (DOA). The team is highly skilled and expanding in 2022.
The Role
We are seeking a multi-skilled Senior Electrical/Avionics Engineer to support certification of large aircraft modifications, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory and customer requirements as outlined in the company’s Design Organization Handbook (DOH).
Responsibilities
1. Report to the Engineering Manager and collaborate with the global engineering team across multiple time zones to identify engineering requirements for aircraft cabin, flight deck, and interior projects.
2. Lead certification activities to ensure design compliance and act as the technical focal point for certification and design/integration issues related to electrical and avionics systems in large aircraft modifications.
3. Compile and review engineering documentation for continued airworthiness, including wiring diagrams, installation drawings, service bulletins, and aircraft manual supplements.
4. Prepare certification documents demonstrating compliance with airworthiness requirements, such as load analysis, test plans, compliance statements, and safety assessments.
5. Review and approve supplier documentation to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory standards.
6. Represent Boeing in customer meetings (ITCM, PDR, CDR, FAI) and provide on-site support during project execution.
Travel may be required domestically and internationally.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Avionic or Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
Skills and Experience
* Experience with an EASA Part 21J Design Organisation or similar in the aerospace industry.
* Experience as an EASA Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) in electrical or avionics disciplines is highly desirable.
* Strong knowledge of EASA regulations, airworthiness standards (e.g., (E)TSO, CS-25, JAR-25, FAR-25).
* Experience with aircraft interior modification programs, especially electrical systems such as in-flight entertainment, connectivity, and lighting.
* Attention to detail, professional integrity, and ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.
* Effective communication and collaboration skills, with a willingness to mentor less experienced staff.
