Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the scoping of an internal Digital Forensics Unit. The successful candidate will develop a comprehensive business case with the aim of advancing digital forensics capabilities within the organisation. Candidates must have PM experience in the digital forensics space (Police/MOD/NCA etc) and have up to date knowledge in this area. They will also have knowledge and an understanding of the ISO 17025:2017 and Forensic Science Regulator accreditation.
Key Responsibilities
* Assess and understand the organisation’s digital forensics requirements.
* Determine the equipment, staffing, and accreditation needed to establish and operate a Digital Forensics Unit.
* Conduct a cost-benefit analysis comparing the proposed unit with current arrangements.
* Build and maintain relationships with national and regional law enforcement agencies regarding digital forensics.
* Oversee the existing digital forensics contract to ensure it meets organisational needs.
* Support the development of policies and procedures for the capture, handling, and storage of digital evidence.
* Stay informed on emerging developments, policies, legislation, and best practices in digital forensics to advise organisational leaders.
Key criteria
* A strong understanding of Digital Forensics which is sufficient to understand the strengths and limitations within Criminal Justice
* Understanding of ISO 17025:2017 and Forensic Science Regulator accreditation
* Overseeing the development and management of complex projects
* Multi agency and partner working
* Horizon scanning to keep abreast of emerging agendas and issues
* Carrying out research activities and projects using a range of techniques and methods
* Presenting data and information in a wide range of formats for a range of audiences at all levels
