Introduction
If you take pride in training staff to deliver nothing less than great healthcare, then Jacobs and Gardens, a neurological care centre in Sawbridgeworth, is looking for a Training Lead to coordinate and support the delivery of induction, mandatory, and ad-hoc training.
As the Training Lead, you will act as the lead facilitator for mandatory, manual handling, and additional training, working with the learning and development centre to ensure all programmes are delivered in line with practical guidelines and maintain compliance.
What you will be doing
Working 37.5 hours a week alongside the Practice Development Nurse, you will provide high-quality classroom-based training, on-ward coaching, and support for Management of Violence and Aggression (MVA) training, and clinical skills training. This includes planning and reviewing training and development for the MVA and breakaway programmes, as well as developing clinical skills-based training.
You will be responsible for coaching, advising, and guiding new staff, tutors, and existing teams on MVA, manual handling, and basic life support (BLS) development and training.

As a Training Lead, you will be:
* Supervising the holistic approach to the safe and therapeutic management of violence and aggression, manual handling, BLS, and other mandatory clinical training.
* Assisting ward-based staff in delivering high-quality MVA practice strategies.
* Supporting the development of care plans related to manual handling and MVA across the site.
* Acting as a resource for the clinical team regarding manual handling, assessments, and concerns.
* Ensuring safe practice that mitigates risk and enhances therapeutic relationships.
* Leading the delivery of BLS training across the site.
* Delivering clinical skills training and assessing competence.
* Carrying out audits related to training evaluation and assessment data.
* Coordinating mandatory training monthly to ensure ongoing compliance.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Knowledge of challenging behaviours, violence, aggression, and manual handling within a neuro healthcare setting.
* Experience delivering high-quality training sessions.
* Excellent coaching and teaching skills.
* At least 2 years of clinical experience in a neurological setting with challenging behaviours.
* Credibility and/or qualifications in health/social care or management (e.g., Nursing, NVQ).
* Support for working towards a Level 3 teaching/training qualification.
* Willingness to undertake GSA Tutor (A-Grade), First Aid (3 days), Manual Handling, and BLS train-the-trainer courses.
