Our Chief OperatingOfficer is retiring in Spring 2026 and this opens up an exciting opportunity tojoin our executive team to lead and manage the delivery of both clinical services and a range of corporate support functions
As the ChiefOperating Officer, you will play a pivotal role within the senior managementteam and the Board being responsible for the strategic and operational delivery of safe and high-quality patient focussed services across the organisation that meet national and local performance requirements within resources available.
This will require a highly motivated, strategic thinking, innovative and experienced senior manager with evidence of a successful track record of achieving results and delivering against challenging performance targets in a senior leadership role in an NHS Trust, operating at or close to Board level.
Main duties of the job
The post will report directly to the Chief Executive, and will work closely with the Managing Director on a day to day basis, and provide visibility and leadership for the operational delivery and performance of services together with the Clinical Business Unit (CBU) operational teams, across the organisation. Providing direct line management of the CBU Associate Directors of Operations, and the CBU Clinical Directors in terms of operational delivery, inspiring and motivating the operational teams to have the skills, authority and autonomy they need to deliver outstanding services. As well as supporting transformational change across boundaries to enable the effective delivery of strategy, through the delivery of service improvement plans and maximising the opportunities of partnership working across the health economy. The post will also lead on business continuity management including emergency planning.
