We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our busy Point of Care Testing Team (POCT). Our work covers a wide range of POCT devices across various departments within ELHT, in both hospital and community settings.
The appointee will have exceptional communication skills, high-level IT Office 365 knowledge, and experience in delivering training.
The Practitioner will assist the Point of Care Coordinator (POCC) in implementing the Trust-wide Point of Care Policy. They will work under supervision on wards, in departments using Point of Care devices, and in Pathology laboratories. Note: this is not a patient-facing role.
The role involves proficiency in device operation, overseeing their use, ensuring adherence to Standard Operating Procedures, performing Quality Control and Quality Assurance, and training users. The Practitioner will be the key contact for IT issues related to point of care and will deputise for the deputy POCC when needed.
This position requires regular travel across ELHT sites, including Royal Blackburn Hospital and Burnley General Hospital, with occasional visits to other sites, including community locations. A full UK driving license and access to a personal vehicle are required.
