Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (BHFT) was formed in April 2001 and became a Foundation Trust in May 2007. In April 2011, the community services from NHS Berkshire East and NHS Berkshire West PCTs merged with the Trust.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
* Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or management.
* MRCPsych or equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
* Additional clinical qualifications.
Experience
* Excellent knowledge in the specialty.
* Strong clinical skills with a bio-psycho-social perspective and broad medical knowledge.
* Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written.
* Ability to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty.
* Decision-making based on evidence and experience, including input from others.
* Ability to meet duties under MHA and MCA.
* Wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience within the NHS or similar services.
* Experience in additional medical specialties relevant to older adults, such as elderly care medicine, neurology, or end-of-life care.
