Overview
Ward Clerk (12-Month Fixed Term Contract) – Location: Frimley Park Hospital, Ward F14, Medical Short Stay (22 beds).
We are seeking an enthusiastic and hard-working Ward Clerk to join our team on Ward F14, a busy 22-bed Medical Short Stay ward. This is a key frontline role for an individual with excellent communication and organisational skills, and experience working with the public. You will provide high-quality reception and administrative support, helping to ensure the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the ward.
As the first point of contact for patients, visitors and staff, you will be responsible for a wide range of administrative duties, including managing patient admissions, transfers and discharges using EPIC, liaising closely with clinical teams to resolve queries, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records. You will also be responsible for ordering essential ward supplies via EPROC, as well as supporting data collection for audits and research when required.

Main duties
* Provide administration cover for the ward.
* Process patients’ admissions, transfers, and discharges on EPIC and liaise with ward staff to resolve problems.
* Ensure adequate stock levels of day-to-day supplies using EPROC.
* Assist with data collection for audits and research as required.

* Essential criteria
* High standard of English communication skills (verbal and written)
* GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English
* Desirable criteria
* Excel and Word qualification or relevant transferable evidenced experience
Experience
* Essential criteria
* Previous experience undertaking a range of clerical and administrative tasks
* High standard of IT literacy/experience in computer use
* Desirable criteria
* Previous health care experience
Skills & Knowledge
* Ability to work unsupervised at times and prioritise workloads under the guidance of the line manager/Shift in Charge
* Ability to communicate effectively in English (written and verbal) with the ability to communicate well at all levels, both face to face and by telephone
* Ability to support clinical staff with patient and carers needs (non-clinical)
* Ability to work within a busy environment
* Flexibility to support another speciality/ward if required
