Job responsibilities
The Pharmacy Technician will support safe, effective, and efficient medicines management within the GP surgery. Working as part of the multidisciplinary team, the postholder will assist with medicines reconciliation, repeat prescription processing, and technical medication reviews. They will help maintain accurate medication records, support medicines optimisation initiatives, and provide patients with practical advice on the safe use of their medicines. The role contributes to improving patient safety, reducing clinical workload, and enhancing the overall quality of care across the practice population.
Person Specification - Qualifications (Essential)
* Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
* Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills or equivalent.
* Additional primary care or medicines optimisation training desirable.
Experience (Essential)
* Experience working in pharmacy settings such as community, hospital, or primary care.
* Experience using clinical systems (EMIS) desirable but not essential.
