Public Sector Financial Reporting Manager- Nationwide
Our successful Public Sector Financial Reporting team provides training, guidance, technical assistance, and quality assurance to support the UK’s largest public sector external audit practice in delivering high-quality audits that provide assurance to the public and stakeholders, adding value to public sector organizations.
This role offers the opportunity to utilize financial reporting and accounting knowledge to support audit teams in delivering quality audits and assist public sector organizations with their challenges.

Our Public Sector Audit team of over 470 works with NHS Trusts, Local Authorities, and other public bodies. A look into the role
* Critically review draft public sector financial statements to support audit teams and manage risk.
* Draft responses and act as a consultee on complex financial reporting queries.
* Lead the drafting of internal guidance and training materials.
* Present or support presentations at internal and external events.
* Contribute to responses to technical consultations.
* Stay updated on professional debates.
* Build relationships with audit teams.
* Work with Financial Reporting and Audit Quality teams.
Knowing you’re right for us
Minimum criteria:
* Professional Accounting qualification (CIPFA, ACA, ICAS, CA, or ACCA).
* Post-qualification experience in external audit for Local Authorities/Health bodies or within a Local Government/Health finance function.
* Strong understanding of IFRS standards and their application in the public sector.
* Knowledge of public sector financial reporting.
* Project management experience.
* Business development experience is beneficial.
