Offer description

To undertake CT Scanning duties within the Northern Trust. To participate in extended working days and out of hours sessions to include CT on-call rotation or CT shift system. To participate in flexible 7-day working rotation to meet service demand.


Responsibilities

* To lead by example in setting a high standard of personal work whilst acting as a member of a team to ensure the highest possible standards of work.
* Advise and assist staff of a more junior grade by providing advice based on knowledge and experience within the CT team.
* Undertaking CT scanning at Causeway Hospital, or any other hospital within the Northern Trust, including mobile CT scanning locations if required.
* Ability to liaise with relevant individuals and groups and establish good working relationships which support continuous quality initiatives.
* Ensure that personal quality of work is evaluated against performance and departmental quality standards.
* Ensuring that equipment is properly maintained, reporting any deficiencies, malfunctions, defects or occurrence which may affect safety to the Radiographer in Charge in accordance with the departmental Protocol.
* Maintain the acquisition of optimal quality diagnostic images, ensuring radiation doses are kept as low as reasonably practicable, in accordance with the departmental Protocol.
* Participating in Post Registration Courses and In-service Education Programmes to ensure Continual Professional Development.
* Undertake training for intravenous injections of contrast agents according to the Northern Trust Radiology Intravenous (IV) Contrast Protocol, if required.
* Following appropriate training and assessment, proactively participate in the Radiology Quality Assurance (QA) programme.
* To promote and advocate the Radiography profession.

Skills and Qualifications

* (Please note original certificates will be required for proof of all qualifications)
* At least 2 years’ experience in General Diagnostic Radiography.
* Degree or Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography.
* Current Radiographer HCPC Registration.
* Qualification in IV cannulation or willing to train.
* PgCert/Diploma in CT or willing to train.
* Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment.
* This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport approved by the Trust which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post.
* Knowledge of role of Radiographer in CT Imaging.
* Knowledge of current Health Service Trends in Imaging.
