The Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is actively seeking an experienced Specialty Doctor as part of an expansion of their Perinatal Mental Health Team in Mid Cornwall.
This is a new post that has arisen due to the availability of new funding and offers an exciting opportunity to provide community care to patients and their families during a critical time, working within a vibrant multi-disciplinary team and collaborating across various disciplines.
The aim of this service is to support the development and delivery of an effective perinatal mental health pathway from pre-conception through to the infant’s second birthday.
The appointee will serve as the Specialty Doctor for individuals on the perinatal pathway, with duties including:
1. Active participation in, and sometimes chairing, a weekly Multi-Disciplinary Team meeting; and attending relevant professionals' meetings.
2. Conducting regular Outpatient Clinics & Domiciliary Visits.
3. In-reaching into local Maternity Units.
4. Engagement in Child Protection processes, such as writing reports for and attending Child Protection Conferences.
5. Responding flexibly to clinical emergencies when appropriate.
6. Providing advice and leadership to the team on medication management and complex cases.
7. Offering clinical advice, including medication guidance, to colleagues in primary care.
