* As part of the Volvo Trucks team, you’ll be working for one of the world’s leading vehicle manufacturers and a company that truly values its people.
* Salary and benefits include: Up to £20 per hour, overtime at time and a half and double time on Sundays and Bank Holidays; on-call payments (including £155 per week while on call out) and additional payments per call out; £1500 signing bonus payable after 6 months continuous service.
* Rotating shift pattern: earlies/lates (0600–1400 / 1400–2200) with alternate Saturdays at overtime as applicable.
Responsibilities
* What you will be doing: Ensure repairs are carried out according to manufacturer’s procedures and in a safe and responsible manner; operate to Volvo Standard Times using Volvo Special Tools where appropriate.
* Assist in fault diagnosis, comply with warranty procedures, and complete service sheets and job cards accurately.
* Coordinate with the parts team to fit the correct replacement parts; road test vehicles when required (HGV licence holder); assist with roadside breakdowns.
* Maintain workshop facilities, equipment, and tools to reflect Volvo Truck and Bus Centre standards; wear PPE when appropriate; support development of trainees and apprentices.
* Contribute to Action Service Europe when required and maintain time recording procedures as per Volvo instructions.
Key Skills / Competencies
* Technically competent in the repair and maintenance of HGVs.
* Effective communication at all levels, both written and verbal; active team member.
* Ability to develop or contribute to new or existing processes; adapt and take on new skills and approaches; participate in training and development activities.
Required Knowledge & Experience
* City and Guilds, NVQ 3 or equivalent; completed an apprenticeship in HGV industry or equivalent experience.
* Experience within the commercial vehicle industry.

* Ensure repairs follow manufacturer procedures and Volvo standards; assist with fault diagnosis and warranty compliance; support Action Service Europe; assist with the parts team; road test and roadside support as required; ensure accurate time recording and documentation; maintain workshop cleanliness; PPE usage; support trainee development.
