Main duties of the job
- 4 sessions per week including a Friday (Required)
- Six weeks annual leave and one week study leave (pro rata) entitlement
- Weekly on call surgeries, including managing online triage requests.
- Would be required to supervise other clinicians, including resident doctors and ANP's

- 15 minute appointments for face to face book ahead appointments
- Low home visiting rate
- Daily coffee meetings
- In-house education meetings twice a month, in addition to monthly practice meetings and PLT
- Highly trained administrators who deal with the majority of incoming docman mail, QOF and medication management
- Consistent high QOF scores

Job responsibilities
- Conduct face to face, telephone and online consultations
- Assess, diagnose and manage a wide range of medical conditions
- Prescribe medications and treatments safely and appropriately in order with clinical guidelines
- Request, interpret and act upon laboratory tests, imaging and other investigations
- Refer patients appropriately to secondary care, community services and specialist teams when necessary
- Provide health promotion, disease prevention and lifestyle advice and modifications to improve patient health outcomes
- Manage patients with complex and multiple health conditions
- Maintain accurate clinical records
- Support national screening and vaccination programmes
- Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives
- Contribute to the achievement of practice and NHS quality standards
- Adhere to professional, ethical and legal requirements including confidentiality and safeguarding procedures
- Work collaboratively with our team
- Attend Practice meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
- Support the training and supervision of medical students, GP trainees and other healthcare professionals where appropriate
Person Specification
Qualifications
- GMC registration to practice as a GP
- On GP Performers list
- MRCGP
- Membership of a medical defence union
- Able to practice medicine in the UK independently
- Engagement in ongoing professional development
- Ability to/enthusiasm for supervising trainees and medical students (support will be provided for this)
- Self motivated and able to work independently with support from the wider clinical team
- Interested in actively addressing the health needs of the practice population
- Competence in skills needed for the role GP - eg communication, IT, interpersonal, teamworking, time-management
- Interest in teaching and/or training
- Interest in community working eg care home or school clinical support
- Interest in developing leadership roles within the practice
- Understanding of local (Coventry) primary care service provision
