Citizens Advice Hull and East Riding is an extensive service, with a turnover of £3.8m. We employ 120 staff and have the support of 100 dedicated volunteers.
We are a complex, geographically dispersed organisation working across Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire, with four offices (Hull, Bridlington, Goole, and Beverley) and over 30 outreach services. We provide a range of local legal advice services, including generalist provision, specialist advice, and targeted services.
As a Strategic Management Team (SMT) member, the post holder will collaborate with the Chief Executive and SMT members to deliver CAHER's vision and aims, and actively develop and shape the organisation's strategy.
We are seeking a strategic and entrepreneurial Head of Business Development (maternity cover) to help us build a more sustainable and impactful organisation. This key role focuses on income generation, partnership development, and driving innovation in our service delivery and operational models. We are looking for someone with a commercial mindset, strong analytical and influencing skills, and a passion for improving outcomes for the communities we serve.
The post holder will lead a small, high-performing Business Development Team, comprising a Communications Officer and a Data & Insights Officer. This team plays a vital role in helping the organisation grow, innovate, and influence. Their collaboration enables us to craft compelling funding bids, communicate our impact effectively, and make strategic decisions based on robust evidence. Data and communications are central to our funding, shaping, and promotion efforts.
The Head of Business Development should have significant senior management experience in providing strategic direction and generating revenue to meet ambitious plans.
