Overview
This role is based at Coventry University Scarborough Campus
As a Lecturer (Teaching) in Learning Disabilities Nursing, you will undertake teaching and course co-ordination while supporting the development and delivery of undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional courses and other core activities to ensure students have an effective learning experience. Based onsite at Coventry University in Scarborough, you will work closely with other academic colleagues to enrich the student learning and teaching experience and embed relevant aspects of research, enterprise, and professional context in modules and courses.
Duties
* Teach on modules and courses at HE levels 4-7 in relevant academic subject areas, including curation, adaptation and creation of module teaching materials, delivering a variety of types of students learning sessions, and supporting students through formal and informal communication throughout teaching blocks.
* Support the design, implementation, ratification and quality assurance processes related to student assessment.
* Prepare and disseminate both generic and specific formative and summative student feedback.
* Support the delivery of simulated practice learning activities.
* Undertake the role of Academic Assessor.
* Support course recruitment activities such as interviews and open days.
* Uphold high standards of academic integrity in all aspects of teaching, learning and assessment.
Qualifications Required
* Active and live registration with the NMC as a Learning Disabilities Nurse is essential for the role.
* Practice Assessor training and experience of supporting student nurses is essential.
* Master’s degree in an appropriate subject or honours degree with appropriate professional qualification and/or membership is essential.
* A teaching qualification or acceptance of the requirement to acquire one if not already held.
* PhD or active membership of an appropriate professional body would be advantageous.

You will have demonstrable experience of successful teaching at higher education levels 4-7 in Learning Disabilities Nursing, either within higher education or in a clinical practice environment. You should demonstrate high standards of teaching, learning and student engagement consistent with our reputation as a high-quality provider of teaching and learning.
Enthusiastic and self-motivated, you will have experience supporting, enhancing and engaging in an active learning pedagogy with evidence of proactively supporting student success.

Salary: Competitive starting salary range from £38,781 up to £44,093 per annum (dependent upon experience) with the potential to progress. A discretionary range for exceptional experience can be discussed/considered.
