Responsibilities
* Lead ornithological surveys and provide expert advice to clients.
* Support environmental impact assessment and habitats regulation appraisals.
* Participate in multidisciplinary teams, ensuring ornithological requirements are recognised and constraints addressed.
* Perform field surveys, data analysis, and technical reporting across transport, water, and energy sectors.
* Travel across the UK for site‑based tasks and occasionally work remotely.
Qualifications
* Background in terrestrial ecology with industry experience in technical reporting and impact assessment.
* Strong bird identification skills and knowledge of generic and species‑specific bird survey techniques.
* Experience in scoping, executing field surveys, and data analysis.
* Associate membership of a professional body (full membership or chartership also acceptable).
* High level of personal responsibility and strong written communication skills.
* Willingness to learn and inquisitiveness.
Preferred (Optional)
* Current full driving licence.
* Additional ecological specialism beyond ornithology.
