ROLE
The Production Engineer will work primarily within the Production Engineering team but will have key working relationships with the New Product Introduction (NPI), Production, Purchasing, QA/RA and R&D departments.
This role requires a driven and flexible individual that can multi‑task, plan, schedule and coordinate various tasks, taking ownership of tight time scales.
A Production Engineer will work closely with the QA team to process all customer change requests allocated to the Production Engineering department in a timely manner to support the smooth running of the business.
This role will fully support the manufacturing facility to maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* PFMEA/Process Validation
* Work Cell set up
* Build pilot production units
* Creation and maintenance of manufacturing work instructions
* Creation of manufacturing work flow charts
* Control of Gerber data and project specific software and firmware
* Review jigs and fixtures within manufacturing for efficiency
* MRP structuring and peer review of structures
* Training of production staff
* Generate new training records on Train Track
* Willingness to travel to customer/supplier sites within the UK and internationally.
* Adherence to all Company policies, management systems and standard operational procedures, including legal responsibilities in relation to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality.
* Provide Environmental commitment for site in order to maintain sustainability and progression to net zero.
* Working positively to develop and foster good working relationships with colleagues and contracted personnel in order to maintain a culture of mutual respect and dignity.
* Promote and display the G&H values: Customer focus, Integrity, Action, Unity, Precision.
PERFORMANCE MEASURES
* Completion of output against target
* Appraisals.
* Regular 1-1 meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Degree level in either mechanical or electronics engineering.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
* Excellent communication skills across internal and external customers

* Experience of ERP system.
* Competency with Microsoft Office products, particularly desirable in Microsoft Project and PowerPoint.
* Process validation experience.
* ISO 13485/MDR trained an advantage.
* CAD and Design experience an advantage.
* Programming in C or Python an advantage.
