The Rams Head Inn, Grappenhall is a fantastic, busy community restaurant pub. Situated in the beautiful South Warrington countryside. The new owners have brought this business back to life and are growing the team.
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter / commis chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a Kitchen Porter / Commis, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen by maintaining cleanliness and assisting with food preparation. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about culinary arts and wish to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced hospitality environment, whether in a food pub or restaurant setting.
We are a busy restaurant so you need to be willing to get your hands dirty and have good standards when it comes to keeping the kitchen, crockery and commercial equipment to the best of cleanliness. You will need to have ' Pace ', a great work ethic and a sence of fun to fit into The Rams family. As you delop we will also teach you the basic standards and kitchen tecniges to become a chef in our kitchen. Whether this will be creative desserts or preparing the Sunday roasts for 100's of diners. Everyday is a diffent day in a professional kitchen.
Responsibilities
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, pots, and pans.
* Assist chefs with food preparation tasks, ensuring ingredients are ready for cooking.
* Keep kitchen equipment and utensils clean and in good working order.
* Help with the storage of food items, ensuring proper stock rotation and hygiene standards are met.
* Support the kitchen team during busy service periods to ensure timely meal preparation.
* Follow health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
* Assist with any additional tasks as directed by the head chef or kitchen manager.
Experience
* Previous experience in a kitchen environment is advantageous but not essential; we welcome those eager to learn.
* A basic understanding of culinary practices and food preparation techniques is beneficial.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are crucial for maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
* A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team in a fast-paced setting are essential.
* Experience in hospitality, particularly within food pubs or restaurants, will be considered an asset.
