The role

Ready to take your career to the next level?

We’re one of the UK’s most forward-thinking law firms, built on a foundation of innovation, collaboration, and ambition. Join us, and let’s shape the future together.

Being refreshingly human starts with how we hire. We believe a diverse mix of perspectives makes us stronger - not just as a business, but in creating a culture where we all feel we truly belong and can thrive. That’s why we’re committed to removing barriers and creating fair opportunities for everyone.

The role in 60 seconds

  • Role: Legal Administrator
  • Team: Conveyancing - Shared Services
  • Location: Taunton or Bristol
  • Working Pattern: Full time
  • Why this role matters: A pivotal role which acts as the backbone of our Conveyancing process, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and efficiently. This highly regarded support role is vital for the successful completion of our property transactions.

What you’ll do

We provide clients across all our service lines with a dedicated team, supported by modern case management systems and technology. This enables us to focus on high-quality service delivery, consistency and operational efficiency.

As a Legal Administrator, you will work closely with the Conveyancing team, supporting day‑to‑day legal operations, managing processes, handling client communications and ensuring matters progress efficiently and compliantly.

While initially aligned to Conveyancing, the role is designed to build transferable skills aligned to a broader Legal Operations career path.

Once fully trained, in this role, you’ll:

  • Be part of a high-performing legal support function, contributing to the operational effectiveness of our Conveyancing services.
  • Provide efficient and reliable administrative and process support to the Conveyancing team, helping ensure matters progress smoothly.
  • Act as a first point of contact for enquiries, delivering consistent and professional client service to new and repeat clients.
  • Support matter inception and administration, including preparing confirmation of instruction letters, maintaining central records, and setting up new clients and matters accurately on systems.
  • Ensure quality, compliance and procedural standards are met across all files.
  • Collate and complete due diligence in line with Anti Money Laundering regulations.
  • Manage routine client communications and information gathering to support compliant file opening and progression.
  • Develop a strong understanding of legal processes, systems and controls, providing an excellent platform for progression into Legal Operations, process improvement or legal support roles more broadly.

What we’re looking for

We are seeking someone with experience of working in a busy office/business environment who enjoys working with processes, systems and people. You’ll be naturally organised, comfortable managing multiple tasks, and attentive to detail.

*This role would suit someone looking to begin or develop a career in a law firm with a longer‑term interest in Legal Operations, legal support or process‑focused roles, rather than specialising solely in conveyancing.

You’ll bring:

  • Prior experience in an administrative or operational support role (experience within a legal or regulated environment is helpful but not essential).
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast‑paced setting.
  • A commitment to working within quality, compliance and process-driven environments.
  • Strong IT skills and confidence learning new systems and ways of working.
  • A collaborative approach and strong team-working skills.
  • Availability to work daily in our Taunton office.
  • A shared enthusiasm for innovation, continuous improvement, collaboration and achieving positive outcomes together.

Progressive benefits tailored to you

We believe our people are our greatest asset. That’s why we offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your professional growth and personal wellbeing, including:

  • Enhanced parental leave policies.
  • Health and wellbeing initiatives (e.g., mental health support, gym memberships).

We are proud to be an Equal Opportunities Employer. As part of our commitment to diversity and inclusion, we invite applicants to complete optional demographic questions. Any information you choose to share will be anonymised and not linked to your application.

For applicants in Northern Ireland: To meet our obligations under the Fair Employment & Treatment (NI) Order 1998, we monitor community background and sex to promote equality of opportunity. While you’re not required to answer these questions, we encourage you to do so. Your responses will be used anonymously for reporting to the Equality Commission and will not influence any recruitment or employment decisions.
