Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Band 6 Crisis Mental Health Nurse to join the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team at Isle of Wight NHS Trust.
Location: Isle of Wight
Contract: Ongoing agency placement
Hours: Full-time and part-time available (including evenings and weekends)
Rate: £27.50 per hour (umbrella) for standard day shifts
Equivalent PAYE: Approx. £22.10 per hour
Enhanced Rates: Uplifts for nights, weekends, and bank holidays
About the Role: This is an excellent opportunity for a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to work in a fast-paced crisis response environment, supporting individuals experiencing acute mental health difficulties. The team works to prevent hospital admissions by providing urgent community-based support and interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Rapid mental health assessments for individuals in crisis
* Short-term intensive interventions to stabilise mental health
* Collaborative care planning with service users and carers
* Liaising with GPs, A&E, police, and other services
* Accurate and timely documentation of assessments and interventions
* Participation in 24-hour shift rota, including nights and weekends
Requirements:
* NMC registration as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN)
* Minimum 6 months experience in a crisis team, HTT, or similar setting
* Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service or willing to apply)
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred
* Strong risk assessment and management skills
* Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure
