Position Details
AfC Band 5 (pro rata) plus allowances, with full-time and part-time options. Contract is permanent, with mandatory induction courses starting on 25 August 2025 and 6 October 2025. The role involves working at The State Hospital, Scotland’s high-secure mental health facility, providing specialist care for individuals with complex mental health needs.
Applicants must be dedicated, compassionate, and capable of working under pressure, with excellent communication skills. Support for professional development includes a comprehensive induction, a six-week settling-in period, and participation in our Newly Qualified Practitioner programme and other training initiatives.
The shift pattern is centered around a 4 on, 2 off schedule, including night duties, with an average of 75 hours per fortnight during night shifts. For those without an NMC Pin, the role begins as a Band 3 Nursing Assistant on a six-month fixed-term contract, transitioning to a Band 5 upon registration.
