Are you a skilled and experienced counselling supervisor looking for a flexible, sessional opportunity?
Beacon is seeking affiliate counselling supervisors to provide high-quality supervision sessions for our dedicated team of counsellors.
As an affiliate counselling supervisor, you will play a vital role in supporting and guiding our counsellors, ensuring that they adhere to ethical and professional standards in their practice.
You will not be directly employed by Beacon but will work on a sessional basis to provide supervision in line with BACP and NCPS guidelines.

Founded in 1984 to ensure everyone in the local community had somewhere to turn, regardless of their financial circumstances, we support over 3,000 adults, young people and children each year to improve their mental health and emotional wellbeing. We deliver a range of therapy, wellbeing services, group support and targeted projects that empower people with the tools and skills they need to recover and thrive, now and in the future.
Role Description
* Provide clinical supervision to Beacon counsellors working with adults and/or children & young people.
* Deliver supervision sessions that promote high-quality, ethical, and reflective practice.
* Support supervisees in their accreditation journey and ensure trainee documentation is completed as required.
* Work in line with BACP’s Ethical Framework, ensuring best practices in all aspects of supervision.
* Assist with safeguarding matters where appropriate by working closely with Beacon’s Designated Safeguarding Leads.
* Maintain accurate and confidential supervision records.
* Identify and escalate any non-compliance with Beacon’s policies, procedures, or ethical guidelines.
* Attend occasional meetings with Beacon managers or clinical governance teams as required.
* Engage in personal professional development and maintain external supervision for your role.
* Send invoices and confirmation of attendance within 30 days of supervision session.
Qualifications
* A qualified and experienced clinical supervisor with a recognised supervision qualification.
* Membership with BACP, NCPS or UKCP and adherence to their ethical framework.
* Experience supervising counsellors working with adults and/or children & young people (please specify experience in cover letter).
* A strong understanding of safeguarding processes and the ability to support supervisees in this area.
* Ability to work flexibly and independently as an external affiliate while aligning with Beacon’s values and policies.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a passion for supporting counsellors' professional development.
