We are looking for an Assistant Housekeeping Manager to join our amazing Hoxton Team! The role is be based within the property and works directly with our Executive Housekeeper.
The Hoxton, Downtown LA is nestled in LA's Downtown on buzzing Broadway. Once the LA Railway Authority, then a candy shop, this property has an LA history that'll charm your socks off. You'll find 174 rooms, a rooftop Peruvian-inspired restaurant by Top Chef Stephanie Izard, Cabra (a sibling to Cabra at The Hoxton, Chicago); our all-day lobby restaurant Moonlarks; plus a rooftop pool and loads of outdoor seating to enjoy that LA weather.
Job Description
* Together with our Executive Housekeeper, take the lead in ensuring our guests experience spotless and well put together rooms that they want to come back to.
* Lead and inspire the housekeeping team by example, creating an environment where they can be themselves, feel supported and empowered.
* Take responsibility in keeping our standards for bedrooms and public areas high, through SOPs, relevant training, and regular checks.
* Pro-actively identify opportunities to improve and enhance processes and procedures.
* Display awareness of departmental costs and ensure that all expenses are kept in line with budget guidelines.
* Control and management of the housekeeping stock, ensuring all orders are monitored.
* Get actively involved in the team’s development to realise their full potential, so we grow together as a Hoxton family.
* Work closely with other teams (front office, maintenance, F&B) towards the overall goal of creating a memorable experience in a beautiful space.
Qualifications
* Passion for hospitality – whether that’s a drink, a meal, an event or a bed for the night.
* You’re all about having a positive impact on the people you interact with, leaving them with a memorable experience.
* You’re up for doing things differently and trying (almost) everything once.
* If we got stuck in a lift together, we’d have a good time and share a few laughs.
* You want to be part of a team that works hard, supports each other, and has fun along the way.
* Previous housekeeping experience at a similar level, or someone who is ready to step into a leadership role.
* Knowledge of Opera, Knowcross or similar property management systems.
* An eagle-eye for detail, you can spot a slip in standards from a mile away.
* Keen to take ownership of and pride in your work, a rollup-your-sleeves attitude to seeing work through and delivering results.
* A natural at leading and managing others, you lead by example and create an environment where your team can be their best self.
