Document Controller – Energy from Waste (Contract) Location: Cambridgeshire Contract Type: Contract (Outside IR35) Day Rate: £300 Per Day Sector: Energy from Waste Overview H9 Talent Solutions are recruiting for an experienced Document Controller to join a major Energy from Waste construction project based in Cambridgeshire. This is a contract position operating outside IR35, providing key support to the project team to ensure documentation is managed, controlled, and distributed effectively throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Manage and maintain the project’s document control system, ensuring all documentation is up to date, accurate, and stored correctly. Process incoming and outgoing documentation, ensuring correct distribution to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner. Maintain document registers and trackers for drawings, technical submissions, RFIs, correspondence, and other key project documents. Ensure document numbering, formatting, and metadata comply with project procedures and standards. Support the issue and control of controlled documents including engineering drawings, specifications, and design reports. Liaise with internal teams, contractors, and consultants to ensure document management processes are followed consistently. Perform quality checks on documents before uploading or issuing. Track document revisions and ensure superseded files are archived appropriately. Provide administrative support to the project management and engineering teams as required. Produce weekly document control reports to support progress tracking and audits. Experience & Skills Required Previous experience as a Document Controller within construction, engineering, or energy infrastructure projects. Strong understanding of document control procedures and version management. Experience using EDMS systems such as Asite, Aconex, Viewpoint, 4Projects, or SharePoint. Excellent organisational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise confidently across multidisciplinary teams. Competent in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook. Ability to work independently while maintaining strong coordination with project teams. Familiarity with large-scale industrial or Energy from Waste projects is advantageous.
