Key Responsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant (TA):
* Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and other learning difficulties.
* Assist in the delivery of tailored lessons and activities to meet individual learning needs.
* Help students develop their social, emotional, and academic skills through positive reinforcement and guidance.
* Support students with their personal care needs as required, ensuring their safety and well-being.
* Collaborate with the class teacher and other staff to monitor and track student progress.
* Promote positive behaviour and encourage independence in students.
Requirements of SEN Teaching Assistant (TA):
* Previous experience in a similar role or working with students with special educational needs.
* Understanding of the national curriculum and strategies for supporting students with SEN.
* Ability to employ a range of teaching strategies that engage and inspire students, making complex concepts accessible and interesting.
* Strong ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, building positive relationships and fostering a collaborative learning environment.
* Passion for supporting students with SEN and a commitment to their academic and personal development.
* Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies, with a commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
* Have an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
