We are seeking a nurturing, enthusiastic, and dedicated Reception Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Romford, starting as soon as possible. The successful candidate will take full responsibility for a Reception class, delivering high-quality teaching and learning in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage framework. The Role As a Reception Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging learning experiences that promote development across all areas of the EYFS. You will create a well-organised, stimulating classroom and outdoor environment that supports learning through play and exploration. Observation, assessment, and planning next steps will be central to your role, ensuring every child receives the support they need to thrive. You will work closely with teaching assistants and Early Years colleagues to ensure consistency and high-quality provision. Building strong relationships with parents and carers will be a key part of the role, supporting children’s development both in school and at home. Key Responsibilities Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality Reception provision in line with the EYFS Create a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment Observe, assess, and record children’s progress accurately Use assessment to inform planning and next steps Support children’s personal, social, and emotional development Promote positive behaviour, independence, and communication skills Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and Early Years colleagues Communicate effectively with parents and carers Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development The Ideal Candidate The successful applicant will: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Have experience teaching in Reception or Early Years Demonstrate a strong understanding of the EYFS framework Be nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic Have excellent classroom organisation and behaviour management skills Be reflective, adaptable, and committed to continuous improvement Show a clear commitment to safeguarding and inclusion Early Career Teachers with a strong interest in Early Years are welcome to apply and will receive mentoring and support.
